SSC JHT 2017 Eligibility Criteria are determined by the SSC authorities. These are released with the recruitment notification for SSC JHT (Junior Hindi Translator). The examination is conducted every year by SSC for the posts of JHT (Junior Hindi Translator) across various government institution, ministries and departments in India. SSC will issue official notification for Junior Hindi Translator exam on 15 April 2017. The candidates can apply upto 5 May 2017.

The eligibility criteria can be divided into three categories: Nationality, Age Limit & Education Qualification

SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria – Nationality

Candidates interested in applying for SSC JHT 2017 Exam should be either

  • Indian citizen, or
  • Candidate from Nepal, or
  • Candidate from Bhutan, or
  • Tibetan refugee arriving India before 1st January 1962 and seeking permanent residence in India, or
  • Indian origin individuals migrating from Burma, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, East-African Nations (Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Malawi, Zaire, Zambia, Ethiopia) or Vietnam and seeking permanent residence in India.

Apart from candidates of Indian origin, all other candidates should provide eligibility proof issued by Indian Government

SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria – Age Limit

As per the SSC authorities, candidates interested in applying for SSC JHT (Junior Hindi Translator) should be minimum 18 years age and maximum 30 years age at the time of applying.

As per Indian constitution, candidates from reserved categories will be given age relaxation. The age relaxation for reserved-category candidates is as per below:

Ex-Servicemen- Gen. 3 yrs
Ex-Servicemen- OBC 6 yrs
Ex-Servicemen-  ST/SC 8 yrs
Employees of General Government- General 5 yrs
Employees of General Government- OBC 8 yrs
Employees of General Government- ST/SC 10 yrs
J&K domiciled candidates – General 5 yrs
J&K domiciled candidates- ST/SC 10 yrs
J&K domiciled candidates- OBC 8 yrs
Disabled Defence Personnel- Unreserved 5 yrs
Disabled Defence Personnel- OBC 8 yrs
Disabled Defence Personnel- ST/SC 10 yrs

 

SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria – Educational Qualification

Candidates interested in applying for JHT (Junior Hindi Translators) with SSC should have the following educational qualification(s):

Candidates should have a master’s degree in English or Hindi from a recognized institution or university. Candidates should also have Hindi or English as compulsory or as elective subject at degree level. Medium of examination should also be either Hindi or English.

Or

Candidates should have a master’s degree in any field from a recognized institution or university. Candidates should also have Hindi or English as compulsory or as elective subject at degree level. Medium of examination should also be either Hindi or English.

Or

Recognized certificate course or Diploma in Hindi-to-English transaction & vice-versa or 2 years of experience in Hindi-to-English transaction & vice-versa translation work across any state or central government office include GOI (Government of India) undertakings.

Or

Bachelor’s degree in any field from a recognized institution or university. Candidates should also have Hindi or English as compulsory or as elective subject at degree level. Medium of examination should also be either Hindi or English.
