SSC Stenographer Exam Eligibility Criteria 2017

All the candidates who wants to apply for SSC Stenographer Grade C and Grade D exam should know their eligibility criteria for the exam.

The three main eligibility criteria for applying for Stenographer exam are:

SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria – Nationality

Interested candidates who wish to apply for SSC Stenographer 2017 Examination should be

  • Indian citizen, or
  • Candidates from Nepal, or
  • Candidate from Bhutan, or
  • Refugee from Tibet entering India before 1st January 1962 with objective of permanent settlement in India, or
  • Indian born candidates migrating from the following nations- Burma, Pakistan, East African Nations (Kenya, Zimbabwe, Nairobi, Zambia, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Ethiopia) and Sri Lanka, entering India before 1st January 1962 with objective of permanent settlement in India

Except Indian citizens, all other candidates described above should have valid proof of citizenship from Indian government.

SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria – Age Limit

  • Age Limit is another criterion to be fulfilled in order to be eligible for submitting application for SSC Stenographer 2017 Exam.
  • Candidates should be minimum 18 years and Maximum 27 years of age at the time of application. This means candidate’s birth date should fall between 2nd August 1989 and 1st August 1998.

As per the directive of Indian constitution, candidates from reserved categories will be given certain age relaxations. These are as follow:

Ex-Servicemen (General or Unreserved)  03 years
Ex-Servicemen (Other Backward Classes)  06 years
Ex-Servicemen (Scheduled Class/ Scheduled Tribes)  08 years
J & K domiciled candidates (General or Unreserved) 05 years
J & K domiciled candidates (Other Backward Classes) 08 years
J & K domiciled candidates (Scheduled Class/ Scheduled Tribes) 10 years
Widows or Divorced or judicially separated women not remarried (General or Unreserved) Up to thirty-five years age
Widows or Divorced or judicially separated women not remarried (Other Backward Classes) Up to thirty-eight years age
Widows or Divorced or judicially separated women not remarried (Scheduled Class/ Scheduled Tribes) Up to forty years age

 

SSC Stenographer Eligibility Criteria – Educational Qualification

  • As per the SSC authorities, candidates applying for SSC Stenographer 2017 Exam should be minimum 12th Standard passed from a recognised Institution, University or Board.
  • Candidates appearing in 12th Examination are also eligible to apply provided they submit proof of passing the 12th examination during the time of recruitment.
  • Also, appearing candidates are required to present documents & evidence from University or Board that they are eligible for sitting in the examination.
